Rosette Earrings

Hi Friends!  It's been a busy morning today giving the blog a fresh new look!  Do you like it?

I participated in this "blog hop" by Inspire Me Heather.  Here's how it works... Sign up on her blog and you will receive 2 blogs to critique anonymously.  In return you receive 2 anonymous critiques!  I love all the input I received!

My craft for the day are these beautiful rosette earrings.
I see these earrings on Etsy all the time!  I recognized the roses from Michael's and knew I could make my own!   Unfortunately, Michael's was out of sterling silver earring posts and I have very sensitive skin so I ordered posts on Etsy from Hungry Panda Supplies.  Before I received my package I saw a post on Craftgawker for this very project!  At first I thought that meant I couldn't share my rose earrings on the blog-- but that's just silly.  Nothing is new.  And besides-- great minds think alike.

To make rose earrings, you will need:
Rose Embellishments (You can find them at Michael's)
Strong Glue (I used E-6000)
Earring Posts (you can buy them at a craft store or Etsy
Simple-- just put a tiny dab of glue on the center of the rose and attach the earring post.  Set them upside down for 24 hours while the glue dries.
So simple and so pretty!

Packing Up My Sewing Machine

Packing for a weekend trip is a big challenge for me. Packing a suitcase with everything I need for a month- and putting everything else into a box is indescribably hard!

As some of you may know, my husband recently started a new business in Florida with his friend and we are relocating there. My sister is 38 weeks pregnant- so I need to have my move in order before her little one makes her grand entrance into the world!

The movers are coming on Wednesday to put our things in storage. The following week is my sister's due date and the next week my husband and pup travel down to Florida. I will stay with my sister and niece for 2 weeks and then fly down to my new home- reuniting with my hubs and Mister G!

Not surprisingly, my craft supplies have been the hardest things to box up. I am sad to put away my sewing machine today. After my sewing things are all packed up, that will leave only 1 knitting project, my felt, embroidery supplies, and jewelry supplies.

I plan to make some jewelry over the next week-mainly because I keep all of my tools and jewels in a vintage tackle box that can be moved on its own without a box.

What kinds of crafts do you make with few small things? I'm excited to see what I can come up with with just a small basket of supplies!!

I also just got the book "The Knitting Sutra" from the library and the first few pages have been fantastic!!! I'm certain I will finish it before part one of the move begins next week!

Interview with NYC Jewelry Designer Michelle Zimmerman | Delicate Raymond

Are you in search of that "perfect" bridesmaids gift? Or maybe you are looking for just the right necklace or bracelet to help accent your beautiful dress on your wedding day?  Than look no further than NYC's Delicate Raymond, bringing you, as the name suggests, delicate, elegant handmade collections for any occasion! Each piece can be worn by itself, or simply paired with one of your own favorite pieces! We love the Monogram Collection and since this week we are talking about everything monogram this was a perfect.

As seen in several fashion and bridal magazines such as Instyle, Redbook, Glamour and Our Brides, and being worn by several celebrities including Mischa Barton, Carrie Underwood, Marcia Cross and Tori Spelling, Lela New York, interviews Delicate Raymond.

1. What is Delicate Raymond? And what services do you provide for the bride and groom?
Delicate Raymond Jewelry is famous for our custom designed Monogrammed jewelry. We allow the customer to choose coin size, chain style, and length, allowing her to "design" the necklace she has been searching for. With the recent launch of Delicate Raymond's bridal jewelry line, we are bringing the customization to brides for their most important day. We offer a selection of simple, timeless styles that can be coordinated with the bridal color party.

2. Any insider tips for the bride when looking for that perfect wedding jewelry?
I personally prefer pieces that are light and delicate, allowing me to wear a simple necklace, or to layer up with vintage pieces and diamonds.

3. Any bridal fashion trends you see happening in weddings and in fashion?
I have noticed that brides are favoring longer necklace styles to layer with more simple dress designs, that compliment a variety of necklines.

4. Do you have a favorite piece that you want to share?
I never step out of the house without my 30" Vintage Monogram Necklace, hand engraved with an "M" of course, for Michelle. I layer it with the 17" Panama Rosary in White Pearls.

5. How do you stay motivated, what inspires you?
I am inspired by the idea that accessories are supposed to "romanticize" your wardrobe. Delicate pieces that are hardly there, that can be layered up at a moments notice for a Glamourous "Golden" look.

Lela Tip: They recently launched a dedicated Bridal Boutique section on the website. All the jewelry selections can be color customized to match the bridal color party. How cool is that?!

David Tutera's Royal Tea Party and his new Jewelry Collection with Sears

I was privileged to attend a bridal editors private lunch hosted by David Tutera (LOVE) to showcase his new bridal jewelry collection that he launched with Sears. It was appropriately themed as a Royal Tea party, considering the timing. It was so lovely!
We lucked out with such warm dry weather. The lunch included different tea selections, scones and mini sandwiches. So cute! We then were able to view the amazing diamond jewelry collections as they were so beautifully displayed on glass cases and pretty blue boxes.
Lela with David Tutera

Equipped with only my iphone I was able to capture some of the lovliness. Thank goodness I also have pro picts of the collections! See below ;)

Love the Sapphire pendant that was in the swag bag - so "Royal" :)
These watches are crystal and will be available in the Fall
I just love the watches, they are so pretty and would make a nice accessory for the wedding day. I think the watch is going to be the new cuff or bracelet.

The bridal engagement ring collection has a vintage yet modern feel. With collection names such as Heirloom, Radiance, Eternal and Legacy. There is a chance for every bride to be to pick her own personal style engagement ring and have David with her every step of the way, so to speak. The quality is great and you can even order your own David Tutera Certificate of Authenticity.

I love how all the diamond rings have "Something Blue" on the inside bands. David wanted to include a real blue sapphire in each ring to add to the brides special day. Love that!

Searching for the perfect wedding dress accessory - Jeweled necklaces and crystal belts, oh my!

Ok, so before buying a totally jeweled up wedding dress think about your accessories. Sometimes the accessories make the dress work! That is what happened to me. If you choose a wedding dress with tons of beautiful crystals and beaded work than you may not want to do any accessories or just a small pair of earrings. BUT, if you are looking at this years beautiful ruffled dresses with beautiful gathering and fabrics you may want to finish your look with a beautiful statement necklace and a beautiful crystal belt.

These jeweled and embellished necklaces are from Ranjana Khan and are just stunning! Some of them can be worn as a crystal belt accessory too!

Embellished crystal belts were all over the runway this bridal market and just add that special finishing touch to the perfect wedding dress. These are some of my favorites!

These Badgley Mischka Crystal Belts are fab!

This Romona Keveza Crystal Belt is so elegant!
