HOOPSkirt 101© The Girlfriends Guide To Wearing A Really Big Wedding Dress!

O

nce upon a time in the not so distant past...there was a wedding planner named Nancy Swiezy whose expertise was called on to plan destination weddings in Newport, Rhode Island, New York City and the Hamptons on Long Island. This wedding planner had encountered many strange situations but there was one situation that had eluded her. The Hoop Skirt.

The Hoop Skirt?? ...you say! Yes, that mysterious support system that takes on a life of its own under a wedding gown with a really, really big skirt. "But why the sudden interest in a Hoop Skirt?", we asked. "Oh yes, we see" we replied, as she explained that her 2009 Newport Bride, Jennifer Fessler, had proclaimed that the design of her wedding gown included a skirt with a circumference 10 times the size of her waist! How darling, she thought. How daring and then "How will her bride ever be able to walk, move, sit, pose?"
Like any great wedding planner who takes a simple concept and turns it into something colossal, Nancy Swiezy got to work researching the origins of the Hoop Skirt and ended producing a clever, creative and delightful, 4 minute video, with a bit of the Brit humor our London brides will enjoy. Nancy shows us how to sit, walk, and other navigational nuances for wearing a Hoop Skirt. Even if you are wearing a stunning sheath down the aisle, you will enjoy watching it. So go to Nancy Swiezy's blog and get out the popcorn and press play!

Photobooths Are Essential For Chic Weddings Because You Leave On Your Honeymoon With An Album Of Memories

Your wedding is formal. Your wedding is over the top. What could possibly be missing? Maybe nothing if you have included a Photobooth!
We love Photobooths. They are fun. They are interactive. They are conversation makers. They mix it up. They give the guests something to do and they create excitement. Kick the festivities off at the cocktail hour by unveiling the Photobooth. What a great ice breaker while your guests mix and mingle waiting for your arrival. A Photobooth creates a joyous atmosphere because a Photobooth is the essence of fun. It brings out the child in everyone, not to mention the romance. These are the pictures your wedding photojournalist will never capture, and the pictures you don't want to miss. From the bridesmaids squishing themselves into the booth to a quiet moment together for the bride and groom, these uncensored images tell a 'behind the scenes' story that will keep you laughing and amused long after the wedding. One of our favorites is NYC Photobooth who covers the Eastern seaboard with this delightful addition to your wedding and other festivities. And the best surprise of all is that you get to leave on your honeymoon with pictures from your wedding! A big hooray to NYC Photobooth and thanks for such a great idea!

The Wedding Bracelet Worn By Jackie Kennedy

A stunning replica of Jacqueline Kennedy's Wedding Bracelet designed by JFK and Jackie together before their Newport wedding in 1953. This is a favorite of Nancy Swiezy, a Newport, Rhode Island destination wedding expert. Keeping with the flavour of the events planned by her company, A Newport Affaire, Nancy recommends incorporating the nostalgia of the Jackie Kennedy mystique. Jackie contributed the pearls and diamonds, while John added the two nautical ropes, representing his family's love of the sea. The Wedding Bracelet has 25 Swarovski crystals, 18 simulated pearls, box and tongue clasp. It is available in 7" or 8" with platinum plating. A small drawstring bag is included for travel. A perfectly sentimental gift for you and your attendants. Match it with a Jackie Kennedy necklace to complete the ensemble. $70 USD
