Polished Hair Pins

Yesterday was a busy day-- but I made time to cross off a little something from my crafty to-do list.

Have you seen the painted bobby pins floating around online?  You might recall that I am not very good at painting my nails.  This project will give life new meaning to my four lonely colors of polish and one top coat.

First, pick out your colors and stick your bobby pins to a folded piece of parchment paper.
Paint your pins.  Don't worry!  The messy part will come off after the paint dries.
Wait a long time to make sure they are dry.  I painted mine before work and removed them about 8 hours later.  Gently scratch off the extra paint that might be hanging off the side of the pin.

Remember the beautiful lace flower hair pins from elisajoy.com/mclaughlindesigns?  I think some colorful rosebuds would be so pretty on a light pink pin.  As I cross "painted bobby pins" off the list, I immediately add "lace flower + painted bobby pin".  That's what I love about crafting!  There is always a project to be worked on, always inspiration to be found, always something new to create!

What is on your crafty to-do list?

OPI Nailpolish - Shrek Collection - Whats with the Cattitude? Review

I am loving the OPI nailpolishes in the Shrek Collection and I have already posted the beautiful purple nailpolish called Funkey Dunkey and the green one called Who the Shrek are you? I wanted to now show you the light blue color in this Shrek collection called Whats with the Cattitude?

It is a great color I love it. The bottle and brush are very nicely designed. The brush is wide and easy to use which makes application easy. The color glides on easily and it took about 2-3strokes to coat the whole nail. It dried very quickly within a few minutes, I applied two coats. I am yet again absolutely impressed with the quality of the polish. It is highly pigmented, and the color really does look great. You can check out all the colors that OPI have at http://www.opi.net.au/.

OPI nailpolishes retail at $19.95 and available at David Jones and beauty salons or online at http://www.opi.net.au/

OPI Nailpolish - Shrek Collection - Who the Shrek are you? Review

A few days ago I posted about the new OPI nailpolishes in the Shrek Collection and I reviewed the beautiful purple nailpolish called Funkey Dunkey. I wanted to now show you the green color in this Shrek collection called Who the Shrek are you?. Normally I wouldn't have thought that this would be a color I could wear, but I absolutely love it and had to share the picture with you.

It is such a trendy color I love it. I will review the third one I have in this collection which is the light blue color called Whats with cattitude? - I will post that as well soon.

OPI nailpolish - Shrek collection - Funky Dunkey Review

I have never tried OPI nailpolishes before now! I know everyone talks so highly about them, so I thought I'd try them out. OPI releases nailpolishes in special collections and at the moment they have the Shrek collection with 6 colors in line with the Shrek Forever After movie.
I have three of the colors as shown in this picture in order they are:  Funkey Dunkey - a beautiful purple, Who the skrek are you? - a beautiful green and Whats with cattitude?  - a beautiful light blue.  You can check out all the colors at http://www.opi.net.au/

I love the purple so I tried the Funkey Dunkey color for this review.  The bottle and brush are very nicely designed. The brush is wide and easy to use which makes application easy. The color glides on easily and it took about 2-3strokes to coat the whole nail. It dried very quickly within a few minutes, I applied two coats.  I am absolutely impressed with the quality of the polish. It is highly pigmented, the color is absolutely gorgeous as you can see in the picture below.

The color is so smooth and has a beautiful shine and depth to it. Even my husband commented on how great he thought it looked! This nailpolish is long wearing it didn't chip until about day 7 which is pretty good.  The best thing about this nailpolish is how great the color looked. I have reviewed other nailpolishes but I really think that OPI nailpolishes have more depth and stability in their color.
They retail at $19.95 and available at David Jones and beauty salons or online at http://www.opi.net.au/
