Peonies
One of my favorites. I adore the the fluffy texture and the size of the blooms. Each flower seems to float. Peonies are in season now.The peony is named after Paeon, a student of Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine and healing. The ancient story reads that Asclepius was jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower. Peonies are said to represent bashfulness and secrets.
